About Me

About me.

In this next chapter of her artistic journey, Julie Johnson has set aside a successful corporate career to pursue her true passion: acrylic painting. Embracing the possibilities of modern technology, she is excited by how advancements in high-quality scanning and archival-grade printing now allow her art to be shared on nearly any surface, making it accessible to everyone, far beyond the walls of a gallery.

Art has been a constant thread throughout Julie’s life, a means of creating and sharing beauty in a way that feels both personal and genuine. From the moment she could hold a crayon, she’s been an artist at heart. She has experimented with every medium, taken countless classes, and yet always returned to acrylic on canvas as her medium of choice.

Her entrepreneurial spirit emerged early. While other kids sold lemonade, Julie set up a card stand, offering hand-colored creations to her neighbors. That same creative drive carried into college, where her first large-scale painting, a Patrick Nagel inspired piece, done on posterboard in her dorm room sparked her love for painting big. Years later, she launched Kaleidoscope Crafts, painting whimsical children’s furniture and murals, including more Winnie-the-Pooh step stools than she can count.

Today, with brush in hand and a heart full of color, Julie is embracing this creative path wholeheartedly. It’s more than a career shift, it’s a return to her truest self.
